Tip for painting with Fusion Metallics:
Many people choose to add Fusion's extender to the metallic colors. Due to the fact that these metallics are so jam packed with shimmering mica and pigment, they tend to be much thicker than the other colors in the line. This makes them dry faster which - in turn, gives your metallic paint less time to self level. This can cause brush strokes if you are not careful and experienced with using Fusion Mineral Paint products. Fortunately, there is an easy fix for this common issue by using only 1/3 of a bottle of extender added to a full container of any Fusion metallic paint product.
ALSO KEEP IN MIND...
Before painting with your preferred metallic color, paint a coat of a solid paint color that is similar in hue to the metallic color you are choosing. Most of the metallics are fairly transparent and this will help with coverage. It can also make your metallic color pop more vividly depending on the color you choose to go underneath.
For Pearl use Raw Silk as an undercoat. For Champagne use Champlain underneath. For Copper use Mustard or Tuscan Orange underneath. For Bronze use Fort York Red or Bedford underneath. For Brushed Steel or Silver use Homestead Blue or Paisley. For Gold use Fort York Red or Buttermilk Cream underneath.
